To promote an upcoming Creator's release, the Microsoft Windows Store wanted to offer unique downloadable desktop themes featuring the highly revered Microsoft Ninja Cat. This was a blue sky project with the only requirement being the illustrations needed to look like they were created by different illustrators. The Adventures of Ninja Cat and The Adventures of Ninja Cat Beyond quickly became a 5-star rated favorite and was downloaded over 350,000 times in the first two months of release.

The illustrations were formatted for single monitor and an extended version for dual monitor.
